The tournament was held on Saturday, October 23, 2021, and featured a weekend of solid fishing. The tournament is sponsored and raised funds by local merchants. You can win either one of the five cash prizes or 50 prizes.

Swansboro Rotary Club King Mackerel Blue Water Tournament was established in 1989 and has been a major fundraiser for the club. In the early years of the tournament, the purse was less than $10,000 and had fewer than 100 participants. In 1988, however, the prize purse had surpassed the $100,000 mark and Lee Moore was the master of ceremonies. The tournament attracted many more fisherman and was also one the first to appear on the Southern Kingfish Association's tour.
